Style and History

Eastside Foursquare Church was founded in 1978. The church experienced dynamic growth and gained national prominence and attention as a church by attempting to creatively and sensitively reach the Baby Boomer generation through high-tech, low-touch outreach. Over the years, the church has consistently been a ground-breaker and regional leader in culturally relevant worship, teaching, and outreach. Pastors Jim and Betsey Hayford came to Eastside in June of 1996. Under their leadership, the church is growing large and strong with an emphasis on the importance of every individual.

Our Campus

EFC's church campus is located on 14 acres of wooded land in Bothell, Washington. Bothell is a suburb located approximately fifteen miles from Downtown Seattle on the east side of Lake Washington. The congregation comes primarily from suburban communities on the east side of Seattle, however, many attend from points farther away in literally all directions!

Congregation

The active constituency of Eastside Foursquare today is approximately 5,000 men, women and children. The average attendance ranges from 2,300 to 2,600 on any given weekend with loads more on special weekends! (fall 2005).

Eastside Staff

The staff of the church is comprised of 45 individuals who coordinate the ministry of over 1000 volunteers.

Structure

Eastside Foursquare is organized governmentally by the Bylaws of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. There is an elected Church Council that serves as a ways-and-means work group to the Senior Pastors and receives the financial reports prepared monthly by the Administrator. The Church Council members serve terms of 2 years and are eligible for election to an additional 2-year term.

Eastside Foursquare is divided into the following Ministry Teams in order to facilitate the efficient flow of ministry: Executive, Administration, Operations, Children's Ministries, Student/Adult Ministries, Pastoral Care Ministries, Music Ministries, and Facilities. Each team is overseen by an Associate Pastor who is also called a Team Leader.
