Jim and Betsey Hayford have served as Senior Pastors of Eastside Foursquare Church since June of 1996. The Hayfords have been involved in full-time ministry since their graduation from L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, California, in 1966.

Jim and Betsey have experienced an interesting and challenging lifetime of service. They have pastored three other Foursquare Churches in California: Glendale, Danville, and Santa Barbara. In addition, they served as Local, District, and National Youth Directors during the earlier years of their ministry. Prior to accepting the call to Eastside Foursquare, the Hayfords were serving as National Directors of Leadership Development and Church Growth for the Headquarter Offices of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in Los Angeles, California.

Jim and Betsey have three grown children and eight grandchildren.

Pastor Jim Hayford

Pastor Jim serves the congregation as the primary preacher. He is a widely-sought guest speaker, particularly to gatherings of pastors and church leaders. His style of communication is relaxed, penetrating, and humorous.

Pastor Jim feels that he must make himself available to the congregation. He has often said, "Being the pastor of a large church does not excuse the Pastor from up-close and personal ministry to the members."

Pastor Jim earned his Doctor of Ministry degree (D.Min) in "Transformational Leadership For the Global City" jointly from Northwest Graduate School, Seattle WA, and Asia Graduate School of Theology, Manila, Philippines.

Besides his heavy speaking and preaching responsibilities, Pastor Jim is also involved in the day-to-day administration of the church, leading weekly team leader Meetings, Pastoral staff meetings, and incidental meetings with individual team leaders. He also serves as chairman of the Church Council at least one time per month, and is the Supervisor for the Seattle District of Foursquare Churches, a division of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.

Pastor Jim is deeply committed to helping Eastside Foursquare Church develop infinitely reproducible models of ministry. Every activity, program, value and vision is scrutinized regarding its legitimate reason for existence and its ability to be reproduced by others easily within their homes, jobs, or ministry focuses.

Pastor Betsey Hayford

Pastor Betsey Hayford serves the congregation in a variety of strategically important ways. As the Head of the Operations Team, she is responsible for the coordination of large church activities that require the involvement of all other teams and maintaining the master plan for the church design and decor. ; and all major church publications, including the Eastside Foursquare Journal, the weekly bulletin, and this web-site.

Pastor Betsey also oversees the Seattle District Office for the 37 Foursquare Churches of King County.

An effective Bible teacher in her own right, Betsey oversees the Women's Ministries of Eastside Foursquare and is invited on a regular basis to speak to other women's groups across the country and around the world. Betsey's great passion is to assist men and women in effectively studying and interpreting the Scriptures using an inductive approach to the process.
