Public worship services:
- The principle reason God’s people
assemble is for worship
- Worship prepares people’s hearts to
hear God’s Word
- When true worship occurs the Holy Spirit is at
work
The role of music in worship:
- The music used in worship should appeal to a broad spectrum of
tastes
- The music used in worship should be memorable and easily
reproducible
- The music used in worship should be presented with
excellence
Public Worship Team Members and Leaders:
- Public: The privilege to serve others
- Worship: The opportunity to take people to the throne of
God
- Team: The possibility to accomplish more
together
- Member: The awareness of our dependency upon each
other
- Leader: The responsibility of being
followed
What is your vision for Eastside’s Music Ministry?
When I am asked this question I first think to myself... It’s not my vision...it needs to be theirs. So, I ask you; "What is your vision for Eastside’s Music Ministry?"
I realize that my role as Senior Pastor requires an answer to this question and so many others like it about all of the areas of ministry in our church. So here is my answer:
- A worshipping church led to the throne of God by musicians and singers of technical excellence and spiritual maturity flowing together in
unity
- A large number of church members involved in worship teams, special music, outreach productions, worship events, choirs and
drama
- A School of Music devoted to depositing in the hearts of children and adults a worshipping heart and technical musical
skills
- Touring musical groups of all ages teaching and modeling worship principles and involved in musical evangelism
efforts
- Annual recording project to provide music for radio ministry and the congregation’s
inspiration
This is a broad vision with room for all and room for more. Betsey and I submit this to you in the Name of Jesus Christ for your acceptance, support, and commitment.
