The Institute of Discipleship Seattle (ID) uniquely provides a multi-church, multi-site training approach. This allows for the sharing of high caliber instructors serving in various churches along with exposure to a variety of church campuses. Our formal training is affiliated with Life Pacific College in San Dimas, CA to provide fully accredited, biblically based and culturally relevant courses. In addition we have a strong non-formal element. This results in ID’s emphasis on three components:

Being //

Personal Discipleship // Where the ministry person is formed
Each student grows in worship, faith, character, spirituality and Godly living especially through personal mentoring.

Doing //

Hands-on Ministry Training // Where ministry skills are formed
Every student serves in the local church and out in the marketplace by loving others and serving according to their spiritual gifts, extending mercy and experiencing the supernatural (salvation, baptisms, healing, deliverance, etc.).

Thinking //

Intensive Study // Where ministry understanding is formed
Through certified, fully accredited institute courses and other avenues of learning, each student develops his or her understanding of biblical, life-giving ministry. Students are prepared to serve in bi-vocational and vocational roles in ministries, and on pastoral teams of new and existing churches that are biblically faithful, life-giving, and relevant to the local context.

ID is for people who are interested in:

  • Seeking a degree in vocational ministry;
  • Earning college credit that may be transferable to another college or university; or
  • Learning more about the Bible, ministry and Biblical leadership.
