Our Mission Statement

We are men of God willing to take on significant and valiant responsibility in the provision, protection and care of our families and church; men who understand the times in which we live and take the time to seek God for the wisdom, strength and compassion we need as leaders.

Pastor Jim's Vision for the Men of Eastside Foursquare

I am deeply committed to serving these men in their manly, husbandly, fatherly and brotherly responsibilities and challenges. Any church worth its "salt" will set as one of its highest priorities the care and feeding of its men. The influence that God has given men in the lives of their spouses and children is mind-boggling. I truly believe in the axiom, "As the men go... so goes the church."

In seeking the Lord about how to disciple 1,000 men, who are each at a different point in their spiritual development and sense of commitment, this verse of Scripture, I Chronicles 12:32, summarizes my vision for the men of Eastside:

  • Men...who understood the times
  • Men...who knew what to do
  • Men...with their households in order

If you read about the entire passage about the men who joined David for his campaign, you will note that by far the smallest contingency from the tribes were those from Issachar. However, this brief verse distinguishes these 200 men from all of the other thousands who came. A simple reading of the text suggests that these men were special. They came to the battle with more than brawn...they came with brains...they had "understanding" and they had "knowledge." I do not think it insignificant that their relatives are not numbered like the other rosters. The Bible simply says "all." Unanimous support, unanimous cooperation, unanimous loyalty. Yes, I do believe that these men were special.

For this reason, I see the men of Eastside Foursquare Church as simply "Issachar." It is my prayer, that in time, more and more men will know what this means.
